Avoid the Plastic Furniture

Unless you very rarely use your patio and generally don’t care much about it, try to avoid the cheap plastic furniture. A table made of plastic just doesn’t look very nice. It is also not very durable and the elements quickly take its toll. After just one year, what was meant to be a white plastic table, tends to look like a gray table, even when protected with covers.

Opt for Quality Materials

Instead look into getting a table made from materials of higher quality, such as tables made from teak or glass and wrought iron.

An example of an outdoor dining table that looks quite spectacular, especially at night when its surroundings are lit up by garden lights, is a glass table with a frame made of wrought iron. Don’t think that your patio has to look old fashioned, it certainly doesn’t. A benefit with this kind of table is maintenance; the elements affect glass and wrought iron tables less than those made of most other materials.

Another, more expensive, option is an outdoor dining table made of teak. This will, if it fits with the rest of the furniture, create a classic and elegant look. Being wood, it also goes well with nature and some feels that it is more fitting for the outdoors. Be aware, however, that such a table requires a lot of maintenance.

Whatever style of outdoor dining table you choose, make sure it fits with your garden, patio and the rest of the furniture. While a glass table can be beautiful, it doesn’t go well with plastic chairs!
